File Tool Setup

Post by Masher »

The file tool setup can be a bit confusing.

If the game server is on the same computer hosting the web portion of the panel; you simply only need to fill in the 'Root Path' setting under 'File Settings for Local Servers'.

If the game server is on a computer managed by a remote monitor (ie a slave in master/slave configuration) and you've enabled the monitor's integrated FTP server, you only need to specify the last three settings. We recommend enabling 'Use Passive Mode'. The next setting, 'Root (FTP) path to give access to user", is where on the FTP server you want to grant the user access to in the file tool. Typically this will be just set to '/'. The last setting on the page, 'Path on remote server', is the actual path on the remote server to be used as the home dir for the FTP server. This setting will typically be the path to the location that contains the game server executable or game mod, such as 'c:\css\orangebox\cstrike', but variables may also be used (%Root% and %ServerWD%).

If the game server is on a computer managed by a remote monitor (ie a slave in master/slave configuration) and you're using a third party FTP server, all settings under 'File Tool Settings for Remote Servers' will need to be entered.
