I want an Upgrade on RSC! LZMA [UT99]

Post by Chamberly »

Hey Masher,

I wanted to let you know that I want the RSC to have a new upgrade: Add on compressing LZMA for redirect.

I'll share a link to give you more info about it here:
https://github.com/CacoFFF/XC-UT99/tree/master/UCC2
https://ut99.org/viewtopic.php?p=74692#p74692
https://sites.google.com/site/ut99gotyd ... ngine/lzma
Related files that works with it:
XC_Core.u
XC_Core.int
XC_Core.dll (win32)
XC_Core.so (linux)
LZMA.dll (win32)
LZMA.so (linux)

https://ut99.org/viewforum.php?f=62 and more on ut99.org.

TLDR; Server use XC_Engine and Clients, use LZMA files for faster redirect!
LZMA = newer technology and smaller files.

Post by Chamberly »

Just got this and will check it out. I'm assuming the updated version would be from that link you posted above.

Gonna ask, would it do both compressing for uz and LZMA?

Btw, any idea why is there the .pdb file in it and if I could use it, how could I use it? With MS VisualStudio, right?

Edit:
Got an error when I pressed Query Redirect. I'm using Windows OS Server 2012 R2.

It'll have two game types for UT99, one does UZ the other LZMA. Here's an installer package to install it.

Seem like I come across a bug. Selecting profiles does not automatically update after selecting other profile.

I downloaded that and using it now.

For some odd reason, Dev1 profile isn't saving the password in the game server profile. When I added it and then hit query redirect, it'll print something but exit asap and I can't catch a screenshot of it because it was too fast but managed to spam screenshot until I got it. https://i.gyazo.com/0aee34706374237b15a ... c1e6e0.png

A simple fix in my Remote Path (FTP) does the fix though. Doesn't save it afterward.

Edit:
Got a crash. https://i.gyazo.com/97f23371a7112c95ca2 ... e20b68.png

Ok, think I got that bug sorted out. Your profiles will need to be recreated. Redid some of the registry stuff.

Removed the old one and installed the new one you posted now.

Seem to be doing fine, will edit this post to report back if anything.

Edit: Seems like it's not saving after I made a new profile. Will try again. haven't tried yet.

Edit2: I notice I get this framework error if the files I had left compressed in the folder gave me this. [Was trying to do another Compress this list of file for redirect) Of course the easy way out is to send this to the redirect. But I may not be too sure if this is the cause.

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Noted. Back again and testing, had a very big day - married a UT99 guy- Higor!

So far I just have to keep restarting the app after getting the errors. After compressing some times it seem to be pretty stable during the normal alpha-numeric characters.

I had over 3300+ files to compress for LZMA. :lol:

Edit:
Getting errors when trying to upload .lzma files into the redirect.

Code: Select all

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I'm unable to reproduce. If you know how to reproduce the issue let me know.

I've also got an update that should give more details if another error should occur.

That error is a permission denied message returned from the server, probably a redirect ftp setting is incorrect in RSC.

If the person has an ftp redirect, why is redirect mode set to local? Redirect mode should probably be ftp. What are his redirect ftp settings? They can also use a regular ftp client to upload the files to their redirect as well.
